Up to today is 95 percent complete!

The Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport can be found in the Tayek commune of the Sotr Nikum district.

This location is approximately 40 kilometers from the Angkor Wat Temple and approximately 51 kilometers from the city of Siem Reap.

This will require new arrangments for your included airport transfers with us, starting from October 2023 and on.

AIAI officially started construction of the Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport in March of 2020.

Long-distance flights can be accommodated at this airport with its 4E classification, which cost $880 million to build.

Due to rising demand and traffic, the existing Siem Reap International Airport will be unable to handle more passengers in the future, as air traffic in Siem Reap new airport is expected to arrive to handle operations of over 10 million people per year. So, in order to handle future traffic, the Cambodian government decided to build a new airport in Siem Reap, eventually replacing the current one.

And this is how we know it: in the first phase of the project, the airport’s runway will be able to accommodate narrow-body aircraft like the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320; in the second phase, the runway will have the ability to accommodate wide-body aircraft like the Boeing 777 and 747.

Accorning to the project, by 2030, the airport’s capacity will increase to 10 million passengers per year; and in the final stage, its overall capacity will improve to over 20 million travelers per year.

A motorway from the city will lead straight to the airport.
