What to Expect
Your friends back home won’t believe what you did today! First, you’ll see magical water carvings from 1,000 years ago, splash in beautiful waterfalls, and stand on top of a mountain. Then, you’ll spend time with real elephants who love to play and eat snacks!
Morning Mountain Adventure
At Kulen Mountain, your day starts with a beautiful drive through the Cambodian countryside. When you reach the base, our expert guide leads you to the River of a Thousand Lingas, where ancient stone carvings lie beneath crystal-clear water. As you walk along the riverbank, you’ll see more than 1,000 small carvings created by master craftsmen over 1,000 years ago.
Next, we head to the spectacular Kulen Waterfall. The two-tiered waterfall offers perfect spots for swimming and photos. The first tier spreads 15 meters wide, while the second drops dramatically from 20 meters high into a refreshing pool below. You’ll have time to swim, relax, and take amazing photos.
The mountain peak viewpoint offers stunning views of the surrounding jungle. Here, you’ll also find the peaceful Reclining Buddha, carved from a single piece of sandstone. Your guide will share fascinating stories about the statue’s history and significance.
Afternoon with the Elephants
At the Kulen Elephant Forest Sanctuary, you’ll meet elephants living freely in their natural habitat. You’ll start by preparing healthy snacks in the sanctuary’s kitchen – the elephants love fresh fruits and vegetables! During the guided forest walk, you’ll see how these gentle giants behave in nature, watching them forage, play, and interact with each other.
One of the day’s highlights comes when the elephants take their afternoon mud bath. You’ll watch from a safe distance as they spray water, roll in the mud, and show off their playful personalities. This natural behavior helps protect their skin and keeps them cool.
The day ends with a peaceful sunset picnic in the forest. While you enjoy fresh fruits and local snacks, you might see the elephants grazing nearby or heading to their favorite resting spots for the night.
