What You’ll Do

On Day 1

You will undoubtedly love your first stop at the spectacular Ta Prohm temple to begin this one-of-a-kind trip in style and with your guide.

There is no rush!

Take your time because there are so many incredible locations for once-in-a-lifetime photographs!

Following our exploration of the temple complex, we proceed to additional unexpected locations!

Because, as previously stated, the purpose of our tour is to show you such diverse but magnificent sights right quickly!

This is why Pre Rup temple and Banteay Samre temple should be on your tour bucket list.

Also, the 640-step trek to the hilltop temple is relatively difficult, but you will be rewarded with stunning views of the Kulen Mountains and Angkor Wat in the distance.

On Day 2

Watch the sun rise over Angkor Wat on this full-day trip to Siem Reap’s UNESCO World Heritage-listed Angkor complex.

Your guide will bring you to Angkor Wat for sunrise before continuing to Angkor Thom, Bayon, the Terrace of the Elephants, and Preah Khan Temple.

We leave your accommodation at 4.10 or 4.30 a.m. (depending on the season) to watch the sunrise outside Angkor Wat.

The longest bas-relief carvings in the world can be seen at night when you enter the temple from the east side, which is less popular.

The best preserved is Angkor Thom’s south gate. It’s connected to the outer world by a 50-meter-long causeway.

On both sides of the causeway, 54 stone figures show the Hindu epic “The Churning of the Ocean.” 54 guardian gods pull the snake’s head on the left side of the moat, while 54 devil gods pull the tail on the right.

In this myth, the snake’s body is wrapped around Mt. Meru, which may be the Bayon temple. The Devas pulled the snake one way, and the gods pushed the other way, alternating back and forth, re-creating the world and the cosmos.

Angkor sunrise Angkor Thom is also visited.

Angkor Thom was the Khmer Empire’s beautiful capital city. Appreciate the city’s majesty before approaching. Bayon Temple’s central towers have more than 200 enormous faces.

The 350-meter-long Terrace of Elephants was the king’s audience hall. It features three central outworks and one end outwork. The center of the retaining wall depicts life-size garuda and lions, while the ends show an elephant procession with Khmer mahouts.

After a long but fascinating tour of Preah Khan Temple’s tangled interior, we drive back to your lodging.

While it’s still big enough to have a great communal atmosphere, it’s still intimate enough that you may explore each spot on your own. Our small semi-private groups are never more than ten people.

We continue to use this as the standard upper limit for the size of small groups because it has consistently been highlighted as an important selling element by all of our client’s testimonials. Because of the frequent positive feedback we’ve received from our guests regarding our ability to handle small groups, we’ve decided that this will be the typical maximum number of people in a group.

Frequently Asked Questions

➤ How do I plan a trip to Angkor Wat?

Three days would be adequate to explore the Angkor temple complex. On day 1 and day 2, you can explore all the best locations with our Private Angkor Wat 2-Day Tour. For a third day, you would love to take a tour like to see Roluos for some of the earliest Khmer buildings, visit Afternoon Siem Reap floating village tour [Siem Reap floating village Kampong Phluk guided tour]

➤ Is it worth getting up early to see the dawn at Angkor Wat?

“It was evident upon landing in Angor that the effort had been more than justified!” “Despite the presence of other passengers, the tour is nicely arranged.” “The three temple locations we visited were magnificent, and we have a lot of excellent images as a result.”

➤ Would you recommend this tour if I only had a few days in Siem Reap?

Our tour guides will pay great attention to you, offer you assistance, and provide you with any information you require. The tour is meticulously done after many years of experience.

Most of our previous visitors recommend taking this tour if you only have a short time in Siem Reap.

We may run the tour with fewer members depending on the season; for example, some groups may consist of only six or eight people.

➤ Is two days in Siem Reap enough?

The huge span of the Angkor temples and other sites in the area cannot be covered in a single day; at least three days are necessary. So, unless you have a friend in the area with an extra bed, you’ll have to stay in a Siem Reap hotel or hostel for the duration of your trip.

➤ Is there a dress code for visiting Angkor Wat?

The strict dress code at Angkor Wat forbids travelers from wearing too-revealing apparel. This category includes items that expose the shoulders, knees, or cleavage. When visiting Angkor Wat, tourists must dress modestly and cover their shoulders and knees with long skirts or pants that reach below their knees.

➤ How about tights? Is it okay to wear leggings to Angkor Wat?

Again, it is considered impolite to wear extremely revealing apparel in religious settings. The steps are steep and narrow, with largely old and uneven high risers. A sarong is OK.

However, due to the steps, it is not recommended. Leggings that are long enough to cover your knees are OK. They can, however, get hot later.

➤ Is a guide required to see Angkor Wat?

From afar, the temple, which many Cambodians see as the spiritual and cultural core of the country, is breathtaking.

Even still, when you approach it, it gets even more spectacular. Because the complex is so extensive, first-time visitors to Angkor may be delighted as well as overwhelmed by the massive number of visitors who visit the site each year. This is due to the overall size of the facility (about two million, with the majority coming between November and February).

➤ Do you see why you should go with a guide to Angkor Wat?

Nothing can prepare you for the first time you see the Angkor Wat temples in person, no matter how many times you’ve scrolled through your Instagram feed, glanced at the Cambodian flag, or walked by the stands selling fridge magnets, blogs, guidebooks, and market t-shirts with the iconic 5-towered structure emblazoned on the front.

All travelers who made the rookie mistake of not scheduling a temple tour in advance strongly advise going to Angkor Wat with a guide.

➤ When is the best time to visit Angkor Wat?

The dry season, which lasts from late November to the middle of April, is clearly the finest time to explore Angkor Wat. Temperatures decline at this time of year, resulting in milder days.

However, keep in mind that this is the busiest time of year for vacationers, so expect crowds and increased prices.

The sticky humidity caused by the wet weather in May exacerbates the high temperatures in Siem Reap in April and May.

Rain falls frequently in Angkor Wat from June to November, yet this is an ideal season to visit because the temples will be less crowded and the tropical landscape will be at its most lush green. Packing an umbrella is a good idea, but the rain is usually brief and interspersed with sunny breaks, so you should be able to get some great shots of Angkor Wat and its surroundings.

THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT: Wear comfortable shoes and apply sunblock.

Wear comfortable shoes and apply sunblock.

There will be plenty of walking, especially at Angkor Wat, the world’s largest religious structure.

Many more temples will demand considerable walking!

Bring sun protection items like a hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses. These are essential.

You should also pack bug repellent, especially if you will be there in the early morning or late evening, when mosquitoes are most active.

➤ Is it feasible to find bathrooms while visiting Angkor Wat?

Both Angkor Wat and Ta Prohm have adequate bathrooms, but Bayon (and others) have restored ones. On main thoroughfares, toilets are located near parking lots. Request a comfortable rest stop from your tour guide!

If you have a valid entrance ticket, you will not be charged to use the restrooms. Some toilet cleaners, though, may request a little tip.

My girlfriend and I will always remember how wonderful the tour was and how much we learned from our knowledgeable guide. I cannot express how grateful I am to you for everything! Because of you, this present for my birthday was truly one of a kind.

  2. Michael J. Aiden

I decided to partner with my husband for our honeymoon and took a tour in Siem Reap. The tour was amazing and it was wonderful to be able to choose which temples to visit. I loved the idea of having two full days for our honeymoon. I loved that the tour was private and that we got so much for our money.
